ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
Managing the effects of operations on the environment
Protecting the environment is of the utmost importance to Compass Coach Lines. This is something that we take very seriously and we pride ourselves in being an industry leader as the company committed to minimizing our carbon footprint and being environmentally friendly.
Our luxurious and modern motor coaches meet all Canadian and US guidelines for emissions. We ensure proper maintenance of our vehicles to reduce emissions whenever our bus is on the road. We also practice fuel-efficient driving habits and reduce idling time in order to reduce fuel consumption.
We are the only company in Manitoba offering an extensive recycling program onboard our motor coach during every trip. This program ensures that all recyclable materials are recycled and do not end up in the landfill. This ensures that thousands of plastic bottles among other recyclable materials are disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner. We hope that with proper promotion and attention given to this program, other companies will follow suit.
We are also extremely proud to have a tree planting program in place that will see us plant trees in the communities that we operate in. Every time one of our motor coaches is on the road, we will plant a tree. This eco-friendly program is the only program of it's type in the industry and something that everyone at Compass Coach Lines is very excited about.
Compass Coach Lines is also responsible for litter control throughout an 8km stretch of the Trans-Canada Highway. Our team will be out picking up litter on Hwy #1 from PR464 east for 8km every spring and fall. We're very proud to be apart of the Adopt-A-Highway program.
